PARTAKERS OF CHRIST

For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to end. Hebrews 3:14

Confidently trusting the Lord releases spiritual growth, personal achievement, peace and influence. When our reliance on God is steady, we will respond to difficulties by seeking Him for guidance and experience the Holy Spirit’s presence, provision and power. Confidence in God equips us for accomplishments far greater than what we are capable of doing by ourselves alone.

When our security rests in God and we trust in His promises, we exhibit a calm confidence that is not natural. While everyone else is in an uproar, we will demonstrate a depth of patience and endurance that easily makes others look up to us for leadership. Those who trust in the Lord have a peace around them that is very assuring and inspiring. In the midst of great trial and difficulty, the Lord Himself will give them peace and fills their hearts with the calm assurance of His presence.

As people around us watch us and observe how we respond to life, they will want to have the peace that we have. Then we can lead them to the Prince of Peace – The Lord Jesus Christ.

We build our confidence in God by meditating on His Word, knowing who He is, and drawing near to Him through prayer. We can lose our confidence by focusing on circumstances rather than Jesus, by trusting only in our strength; and by placing all of our trust in another human being.

Through our life of confidence in Christ, we can show the world the true picture of the risen Christ who lives in us and guides us. What do your actions reveal about you: Christ-centred confidence or self-reliance?
