GOD IS IN CONTROL
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7
There is only one kind of person who God cannot help and that is the person who trusts in his own horses and chariots. Many people are so full of their own sense of power and accomplishment that they fail to give God any place in their lives. They are so much aware of their own competence that they cannot release their burdens to the Lord. Faith in their education, networks and money become a substitute for faith in God.
For such people, even when they say that they trust in God, they are unable to let God take charge of their lives and situations. They know God can do it but they also believe they can do it. They know the power of God but they also know the power of their money and influence.
Some pray and commit issues to God but never trust Him enough to take care of the situation. They may even spend long hours in prayer and then right after prayer go into panic and anxiety over what they just talked to God about.
Right from the place of prayer, they take back the issue they spoke to the Lord about and set out to solve it by themselves. Although the love of God will continue to pull on us and draw us towards His plans and purposes for our lives, we have to learn to trust Him.
If we really want God’s help, then we should be able to come to Him and say, ‘Lord, I’ve got a problem; I need help, I admit my inadequacy.’
Prayer: Lord, take control; I yield my fears and worries to You.
